Playing in front of 26 million fans
or just your foursome,
without proper training extreme stress can destroy critical skills for success.
Refining those skills is crucial to winning under pressure.
Has your second lie been a wet one?
Can you shake off that hook to put the next shot on the green and save par? Was it your focus or lack there of that put you in the trees to begin with?
There are five steps for each shot and your brain needs to be firing differently to successfully complete each one:
- Plan the shot.
- Calibrate the direction and distance.
- Still your inner mind (Expert athletes have a quiet brain when they are playing).
- Swing divested of overt thoughts; relaxed and automatic.
- Process the shot, let go of it and move on.
Biofeedback Helps the Mental Control of Champions
Focus and quick recovery are pivotal to take you to the top. Biofeedback-based Performance Training is used by many professional athletes and medal-winning Olympiads.
Most recently Lucas Giolito of the White Sox credits neurofeedback for helping his game to move from just a team pitcher to “one of the top pitchers in the American League” representing the White Sox in the All-Star Game.
Concentration, mental flexibility, emotional control and quick recovery from failed shots are some of the most critical skills in a winner’s bag. Visualizing the game while seeing the instantaneous data will enable you to see when intrusive or distracting thoughts are getting in the way.
With practice, you will be able to leave the failed shots behind.
The Mental Game Seperates a Winner From Second Place
Biofeedback and Neurofeedback are used by professional athletes and Olympiads across the world to take home the win. Specific protocols are developed for the athlete and their goals. Each sport is different as is the brain and body of the person perfecting their performance.
The athlete trains to master a flexibility of focus, shake off performance anxiety, maintain relaxed muscles, coherent heart rhythms and relevant dominant brain states. By connecting the athlete to highly sensitive machines listening to their body, the most effective path is developed by the athlete.
